This two-day course aims to develop a systematic understanding, and a critical awareness, of current issues surrounding international comparisons.
23 April 2015 - 24 April 2015
The course teaches students how to download and analyse complex quantitative cross-national datasets such as PISA, PIRLS and TIMSS and will cover topics such as the use of Balanced Repeated Replication (BRR) weights, the estimation of regression models using complex databases, and the development and running of programmes in STATA to efficiently conduct cross-national analyses. An understanding of basic statistics (mean, median, correlation, bivariate OLS regression, statistical inference, confidence intervals) is required.
More information about the course can be found on the UCL Institute of Education website.
