CLOSER is a proud sponsor of this year's Society for Social Medicine and Population Health conference which will take place from 15 - 17 September 2021.
About the conference
The Society’s next Annual Scientific Meeting will take place 15-17th September 2021, mainly as a virtual conference. The event is hosted by the University of Liverpool and will include a range of stellar keynote speakers, expert panellists, themed parallel sessions, plenaries and training workshops.
Early Career Researchers can also meet the day before, on Tuesday Sept 14th.
Why should I attend?
Anyone interested in population health sciences is very welcome. Come and join us as we share information and network in a friendly and informal atmosphere.
Our three priorities are quality research, networking and career development (especially for early career researchers and mid-career researchers).
Our conference thus welcomes a range of research approaches (quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods) to address important issues in population health in its widest sense, spanning wellbeing, illness, and disease.
We are thus a broad family, spanning a wide range of disciplines, including public health, epidemiology, social sciences, economics, psychology, health services research, disease prevention, policy and political science.
Last year, our virtual conference attracted almost 800 participants from all over the world. Participants ranged from students to senior academics, from policy makers to the wider public health community
Some 80 early career researchers attended pre-conference workshops on career development and mentorship.
